Sky Ferreira

Sky Ferreira was born on July 8, 1992, in Los Angeles, California.¹ She began writing songs at a young age and posted demos on MySpace, which led to a record deal with Capitol Records when she was 15. Her early music was heavily influenced by pop and electronic sounds, but she later gravitated toward a more alternative rock aesthetic.

After several delays and label changes, Ferreira released her debut album Night Time, My Time in 2013 to widespread critical acclaim. The album, which she co-wrote with producer Ariel Rechtshaid, was praised for its raw, 1990s-inspired sound and honest lyrics. It was named one of the best albums of the year by multiple publications.² The single "You're Not the One" became a cult favorite.
