Lesser-known aspects

One lesser-known fact is that the pop-up book in the film was inspired by a real book, London: A Pop-Up Book by Jennie Maizels, which was used as a reference. The film features a cameo by Michael Bond, the author of the original books, who appears as a passerby in the street. The prison scenes were filmed in a former prison in Oxfordshire, and the set was designed with a pastel color palette to contrast with the grim setting. Additionally, the film's soundtrack, composed by Dario Marianelli, incorporates a music box motif that recurs throughout, symbolizing Paddington's connection to his Aunt Lucy.
