Additionally, the song's bridge features a rare moment where Townsend's clean vocals are heard, contrasting his usual harsh style. The character of Agony is one of nine emotions in the album, and "Loser" is one of the few tracks where the protagonist fully succumbs to negative feelings, setting up the later track "Day Eleven: Love" where he begins to recover.
