Linus Eklöw (born 25 December 1979) is a Swedish DJ and record producer, best known under his stage name Style of Eye and as one half of the electronic music duo Galantis alongside Christian Karlsson.
Linus Eklöw was born in Stockholm, Sweden. He began his music career in the early 2000s, gaining recognition as a DJ and producer under the alias Style of Eye. His early releases on Swedish labels such as Pickadoll and Size Records helped establish him in the European house scene.1 In 2007, he released the track "The Bigger They Come" on Size Records, which became a club hit and later the title of his own label imprint.2 Eklöw also collaborated with fellow Swede Sebjak on several tracks, including "Love Will Come" and "Smoke", which further solidified his reputation as a versatile producer.
In 2012, Eklöw formed the duo Galantis with Christian Karlsson (of the pop group Miike Snow). Their debut single, "Smile", was released in 2013, but it was the 2014 single "Runaway (U & I)" that brought them worldwide fame, reaching multi-platinum status in several countries. Galantis has since released three studio albums: Pharmacy (2014), The Aviary (2017), and Church (2020). The duo's sound blends pop melodies with electronic production, and they have headlined major festivals such as Coachella, Tomorrowland, and Ultra Music Festival. Eklöw's production work under the Galantis name has also contributed to songs for other artists, including remixes for Lorde and Madonna.
As Style of Eye, Eklöw has released a steady stream of singles and EPs, maintaining a distinct sound rooted in tech-house and progressive house. His 2012 track "The United" was a collaboration with Tiësto and appeared on the Dutch DJ's album Club Life: Volume Three Stockholm.3 He also founded the label "The Bigger They Come" in 2013, which has released music from artists such as Amtrac and Alex Kenji. In 2016, he released a solo EP titled Darkness under his own name, showcasing a more experimental side. Despite Galantis's massive success, Eklöw continues to produce as Style of Eye, often preferring the club-focused atmosphere of his solo work.
Beyond his public personas, Eklöw is an accomplished songwriter and has contributed to pop hits for other artists. He co-wrote "Your Love" by the British girl group Little Mix, and his production work appears on tracks by Kylie Minogue and the Swedish duo Icona Pop.4 He is also an avid collector of vintage synthesizers, which he often uses in his productions. A lesser-known fact is that Eklöw studied graphic design before committing to music full-time, and he designed the original Galantis logo. He has also voiced support for mental health awareness in the electronic music community, participating in charity events such as the "Love is Louder" campaign.5 Additionally, his 2014 track "After Dark" was used in the soundtrack for the video game FIFA 15.
