John Jay College of Criminal Justice

John Jay College was established in 1964 as the College of Police Science, a response to the need for higher education among New York City police officers. It was renamed in 1965 to honor John Jay, the first Chief Justice of the United States, reflecting a broader mission of justice and public service.
