The FIA World Endurance Championship is the FIA's global championship for multi-class endurance sports-car racing. It began in 2012 under the joint sporting framework of the FIA and the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO), following the ACO's Intercontinental Le Mans Cup. 1 The series gives manufacturers and private teams a season-long setting in which cars compete across races lasting from several hours to a full day.
