Alec Palao

Alec Palao began his career in the 1980s as a musician and writer before turning to music archiving. He joined Ace Records, a London-based label renowned for its compilations of vintage soul, R&B, and pop, where he became a key figure in their reissue program. His work involves remastering original tapes, writing detailed liner notes, and selecting tracks that tell a coherent story about a particular artist or genre.¹

Palao has also collaborated with Rhino Entertainment on major box sets, including those for the Monkees and the Byrds.
